Fairfield Inn & Suites by Marriott Clear Lake

Five stars for Karen and her team at the Fairfield Inn in Clear Lake. We had to pull over during a recent blizzard and were so grateful to get a clean room and comfortable accommodations. The staff were friendly, highly capable, and went the extra mile to help us throughout our stay. Having a workout room, pool, breakfast, and a great restaurant next door made this location a winner.

I was exhausted and lost nearly 40 minutes from my 9 hour trip. I was as polite as I could be, but it took two employees ages to check whether they had a room. The front desk worker and I even went to look at the room to see if it was ready. I let her help the person waiting with a reservation first, and then expected her to give me the key. While checking that person in, she told me, “I don't think we'll be able to get you in.” I'd said MULTIPLE TIMES I was fine going elsewhere if there wasn't a room, and I lied and said, “no problem.” Another 20-30 minutes later, she wouldn't give me the empty room she'd JUST shown me. I could've been falling asleep at another hotel by the time I walked out. No class. I wish I could get reimbursed for the time I lost. I'm so tired of Fairfield.

The room was clean and really nice, and breakfast was good. Staff were very friendly and went out of their way to make sure my wife was comfortable after her recent surgery.

Breakfast was minimal, though it's included, so how much can I complain lol. The rooms were clean, but the thermostat did NOT control the window unit even though its sign said to use the thermostat. It stayed hot and uncomfortable until we adjusted the unit ourselves. Switching the thermostat on and off did nothing, which is how we knew. The shower floor was stained and looked dirty. I also requested pillows through the mobile app and never got them, and never received my mobile key.
