Lake Place Resort

The fishing was amazing, and my boyfriend and his family had such a good time. The owner is sweet, and since I love cooking, having a full kitchen was the best part for me. The other guests have always been friendly too. I'm planning to come up on my own for some me time, and I want to organize a girls' trip with my friends.

The owners are kind, and everything was very clean. When we had septic problems at home, we stayed here for a few days. They gave us a neighbor discount since we live two blocks away. I'll send my family here when they visit. The dock is well kept and has holders for fishing poles. There are lots of crappie nearby, and it's fun catching them with a simple worm and bobber. It's a nice little romantic getaway, with much less traffic noise since it's not right on Highway 20.

The room smelled, the sheets were stained, and the place was filthy. Within ten minutes of arriving, I found black hairs in the bathroom and food in the kitchen sink. I told the owner right away, then tried to stay optimistic while we took our boat out to explore the lake. When we came back about two hours later, the food was still in the sink and only some of the hair had been cleaned up. We couldn't take it any longer and asked for a refund. The owner wouldn't refund us or let us leave, and insisted maybe we had put the hair there to get out of the stay. That wasn't true. Their standards for cleanliness are clearly very low. It was horrendous.

We won't stay here again. The place was filthy and clearly hadn't been cleaned. There were bugs in the shower and coffee maker, and dust and dirt everywhere. The bed was worn out and really uncomfortable. The 10-inch TV wasn't in a good spot for viewing either. It was overpriced and shameful.
