The stranger was nice and explained what had happened, but I was scared when my door nearly opened. Thank goodness I'd double locked it. The front desk had given that person my room key because they said their friend was staying with me. Nobody even asked for the friend's name to check. When I went down to complain, all I got was an apology and, “it won’t happen ever again. I have it noted.” There isn't a lock box in the room, either. Be careful here, double lock your door and keep a close eye on your valuables. If someone says their friend or someone else is staying in your room, they may just hand that stranger a key and give them access.

I've stayed here before and thought it was very nice. The staff were pleasant this time too, and the bed was clean and comfortable, but the place needs work. Paint drips and stains were everywhere, the ceiling needed another coat, and the elevator felt sketchy. The bathroom needed repairs: the shower needed caulking, the toilet seat was loose, and the toilet base looked like it had pee stains. The blow dryer didn't work, though they gave me a replacement. The old, moldy air conditioner did work. The pool was a little green, with tile pieces missing and left on the concrete by the steps.

The grounds look neglected, with trash around and flower beds overgrown or dead, and the hotel's cleanliness needs serious work. The beds aren't king beds, the bedding was old and stained, and the mattresses were awful. Breakfast was a joke: cold cereal, two yogurts in the fridge, and coffee colored water. They're also trying to charge a fee for service dogs, which breaks state and federal laws. It doesn't take much to maintain the grounds, but it seems they just want the money and don't care about the people who stay there, including those who stay for a while.

The king suite was a good deal for the price. It had a very comfortable king bed, a loveseat and coffee table, a desk with an ergonomic chair, and a kitchenette with a full size refrigerator/freezer, three-burner stove, small sink, and microwave. The front desk staff were very nice, and we could bring our dog for a small additional fee. Just a heads-up, the elevator is noisy and doesn't ride very smoothly.
