Holiday Inn Express Suites Clifton Park by IHG

Tyrone at the front desk made the stay especially easy. He was kind, efficient, and went above and beyond. My room at the Holiday Inn Express Clifton Park was clean, quiet, and well appointed, just what I needed after a long day. I stayed on 4/10 and would definitely come back.

The staff treated us like people when a stressful hospital visit threw our plans off. My daughter had an early medical test at Albany Med, but it wasn't working as expected on her body and had to be repeated. We wouldn't make checkout, so I panicked. They let us stay later than late without charging the fee I offered to pay. We're booking again in May for our next big family visit. This was my fifth stay here. I used to come for hockey tournaments, and now I visit with my daughter and go to the restaurant right next door. We chose the hotel again for its pool and location. We thought we'd return early enough for a nap or swim before checkout, so we requested a late checkout. Check-in was great too, and the welcome gift was nice. We didn't eat breakfast, but it smelled great when we left at 6:30 in the morning. We enjoyed the pool, and the area wasn't too cold or too hot and humid.

The room was decent, but the shower needs updating. The water pressure was strong, though the shower head was rusty and didn't let the water flow properly, making it hard to rinse out shampoo. We weren't told in advance about the $50 charge on arrival. They called it “accidental,” but it should have been clearly disclosed. The receptionist said every hotel she visits does this, which simply isn't true. Guests should be informed about charges beforehand.

I've been staying here for business at least once a month for about a year. It's always clean and well maintained, and the staff are great. Breakfast is cooked well and stocked every morning. Peddler's Bar is right next door, which makes it easy to pick up takeout for dinner. I'll keep coming back.
