This has become my home away from home during the workweek. I’m in Iowa City and work for the state in West Des Moines, and after trying the place because of its Booking rating, I now stay here every week and book directly. The rooms are modern, roomy, quiet, and very clean, with a fridge and microwave. The beds are especially comfortable, which means a lot to me after a full spinal fusion. I also appreciate the great shower pressure and hot water after work, plus the nice onsite gym. I haven’t tried the pool, but it looks great. Staff are kind, helpful, and fantastic. Breakfast suits me as a light eater, and there are waffles and other options for people who want more. It works well for families visiting the fun spots around Des Moines, too. The value, quality, and service are hard to beat. 10/10, I recommend it.

The rates are very reasonable, and the staff are courteous and attentive at any hour. Restaurants, shopping centers, hospitals, and other Clive amenities are easy to reach on foot. I highly recommend this hotel.

Our “clean” towels and sheets had dirt and makeup on them, and the room itself was dirty, moldy, and run down, with spiders and cobwebs. It looked like nobody had cleaned it in months. When I complained, they said we’d already received a discount. I’m contacting Wyndham with all the photos. I don’t think $511 is fair for a place worse than a Motel 6. I won’t stay at a Super 8 again and definitely don’t recommend it. I wish I could give zero stars.

The rooms were spacious and clean, and we slept really comfortably. Front desk staff were pleasant and helpful, too. We had a great stay and will definitely come back.
