Super 8 by Wyndham Cloquet

We needed a first-floor king room, but were told those were only available upstairs. The staff member offered to upgrade us to a first-floor suite instead, which worked perfectly for our needs. The staff were very friendly and helpful, the room was clean, and the bed was comfortable. A great budget motel.

The stay was awesome, and the staff were amazing. The room was great too, though it took me a while to figure out that the light by the door was on the mirror. Maybe guests could be told about that beforehand. Thanks!

I wouldn't recommend staying here. Our room hadn't been cleaned, with food and plastic clothing-tag fasteners left on the floor. We tried the provided breakfast, but heating a sandwich meant using a filthy microwave. The front desk employee was rude when we told her, and when I asked whether it had been cleaned in the last couple of days, she said she had no control over that. I also pointed out food under the microwave and on the floor beneath the cabinet, and she had no comment. The place was a dump.

The employee was great, and the bed itself was soft, but the mattress kept slipping because it wasn't properly placed on the frame and there were no guards. The toilet was dirty underneath too. Otherwise, things were good.
