The overnight staff were amazing. They patiently helped us sort out the room, and I’d give them five stars. I stayed with my son while we hunted nearby. It’s an inexpensive place and not far from the coast, though some things need attention: the laundry soap dispenser was broken, along with the TV and a few other details. Cleaning could use a little work too. I’d stay again if I needed a safe, affordable place.

The lobby and hallways smelled strongly of weed, with sketchy people hanging around, and it felt like a spot for getting high on whatever drugs are around. The first thing we saw outside was a pitbull, even though there’s a no-pets sign. Inside, the first room had a shattered TV, so we were moved. The next room had a bag over the smoke detector, napkin in the peephole, and stains all over every blanket, including what looked like blood. They tidied the room while we were out, but the replacement blankets were stained too. It looked decent outside, but the room cost me $100 and was the worst I’ve ever paid for. They advertise breakfast, but there wasn’t any on any of the mornings. Don’t waste your money.

David was especially helpful. He carried my luggage and made sure I got a wheelchair accessible room, which was spacious. The hotel has potential, and the staff and OYO followed up during and after my stay, so I can see the effort to improve things. The price is affordable, too. But there were cockroaches in the microwave and on the bed, the sheets and general cleanliness need work, and the floor didn’t feel good to walk on barefoot even though it looked well vacuumed. The room smelled like cigarette smoke despite being marked non-smoking. The switches were confusing at first, the bathroom door was damaged, the hair dryer was melted, and the ironing board was missing its cover. David and the other staff were responsive and helpful, and I hope the improvements continue. I’m giving it five stars for their effort.

We tried to put up with the roaches for a night or two, but the pool was so green that our daughter was depressed she couldn’t swim. The first room was still dirty, with hair and black stains on the sheets. The second was cleaner, but we saw roaches there. I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone wanting a cheap but decent place.
