Beach Island Resort

We rented six units for a wonderful family week at Island Beach Resort, and having everyone together made it special. The rooms were directly across from one another, so we could keep popping in and out. The beach was right there and the pool just steps away. We grilled together using the four or five grills at the barbecue area, then gathered at the fire pit each night to talk. Those evenings quickly became a favorite part of the trip. Penny was so welcoming and kind, checking in daily to see if we needed anything. The clean bungalow-style community was beautifully decorated for Christmas, and the kitchen had all the dishes and supplies we needed. We met some lovely people who stay there often, which added to the welcoming feel. Our whole family plans to return, and we can’t wait.

We loved being right on the beach, where we could enjoy the ocean and watch rocket launches. The hot tub was especially useful in the cold weather. This vintage motel has its own retro beach style, and the rooms are all different. Room 112 had two bedrooms and a little efficiency kitchen that worked well for us. Penny, the onsite manager, was gracious and helpful, and Donna made sure we had everything we needed. A lovely stay all around.

The location was good, and the property manager was incredibly helpful. The room was clean, but very outdated and extremely small. The bathroom was so tiny it’s hard to imagine fitting a toilet, sink, and shower into eight square feet, but they managed. I expected more amenities from somewhere advertised as a resort, and the rooms felt overpriced for what they are. After seeing all the five-star reviews, it was disappointing to arrive and feel let down. Some updates and a few more amenities would make this place great for the price.

The property was beautiful, the rooms were clean, and we had a wonderful time. We couldn’t have asked for a better place to stay.
