Cody Legacy Inn & Suites

Car trouble left us stranded in Cody on the way to Yellowstone, without a reservation. The rates were reasonable given the situation, and the room was clean. Everyone on staff was kind and friendly. It was a great place to land in an emergency.

Rhonda at the front desk was lovely and really helpful. The bed, however, was so worn down and sunken that sleeping was miserable, and we ended up checking out early to find somewhere else. The rest of the hotel was about what I'd expect from a 2-star place, but that mattress was unacceptable.

We liked how clean the hotel was, the friendly host, and the cute towel designs in the bathroom. But at 5:00 a.m., as we were trying to leave for yellowstone, the room lock jammed. The manager came down and tried his Master key, with no luck, then climbed in through the window to work on the lock. He couldn't fix it, so we had to get out through the window with our luggage. It's a funny story now, but we felt the price should have been discounted. It was insult added to injury.

We picked this hotel as a stopping point and were glad we did. The rooms were roomy, well kept, and very clean, without the dust I've found in some chain hotels. The shower was a real highlight, hot water and great pressure. I'd stay here again if I come through this way.
