Hampton Inn College Station

We were told there’d already been several complaints, and that maintenance had been yelled at, but the noise carried on for three hours. On Sunday at 8am, banging, sawing, and scraping from the room above woke us up. It sounded like renovation work. We’d stayed after a late event the night before, as had many other people, and expected to sleep until at least 10am. Instead the noise continued until we left at 11am. The front desk said maintenance wasn’t supposed to start until after 11am, which makes sense since that’s checkout time. We couldn’t get enough rest before driving home, and there was no compensation for the inconvenience.

We walked in and the place smelled awful. The floors looked as if they hadn’t been cleaned in years, and there was hair all over the floor and bed. This was the worst hotel I’ve ever seen and doesn’t deserve even one star. Other people were complaining too and walking right back out. Whoever owns the building should seriously consider taking it out of service soon. Maybe OSHA and the health department need to visit and close it down if possible.

The front counter looked as if a hurricane had hit it, and the staff didn’t seem to care much that the televisions weren’t working. The food tasted like it was three weeks old and microwaved. The beds were old and uncomfortable. This hotel is falling apart and needs serious help.

The receptionist was nice and let me cancel without a charge. The hotel was undergoing renovation, though it should have been closed for the work. The lobby and room smelled foul, the carpet was really dirty, and the furniture was outdated. I’d avoid staying here until the renovation is finished.
