Holiday Inn & Suites College Station - Aggieland by IHG

I’ve spent hundreds of nights traveling over the last 35 years, mostly at IHG properties, and rarely write reviews. The staff here were courteous and the service was very good, but the property falls short of the brand’s standards. The location is good, though signs on the two main roads should make the turn easier to find. In room 210, the phone didn’t work and staff couldn’t fix it. The AC also couldn’t be fixed, and the hot water was barely warm throughout my stay. I hope this room is an exception. Management should pay closer attention to the hotel’s condition and schedule updates more aggressively. LWE

The jacuzzi suite was spacious and nice, with plenty of hot water and good pressure, but only half the jacuzzi jets worked. The bed was comfortable, and the staff were friendly. The pool pump was out, with a clump of hair floating in the water, and the hot tub was lukewarm. There was no restaurant or bartender, and breakfast wasn’t made to order or anything special. The elevator smelled so strongly of hydraulic fluid on the fourth floor that it made me nauseous. I don’t know about the other floors. This could be a nice hotel once these problems are addressed.

I’ve stayed at more than 10 IHG properties, and this one was a big disappointment. The room had carpet stains and mosquitoes, the phone charging USB port didn’t work, and a fire sprinkler was broken. The elevators shook when stopping. Staff were good, but I didn’t like the hotel’s policies. As a Diamond Elite member, I wasn’t given the welcome points, and they said they follow their own policy. I wish I could give this hotel zero points.

Rico made a great first impression at check-in. He was welcoming, professional, and attentive, and handled everything quickly so the process felt easy and stress-free. His friendly, caring service really stood out. He’s a valuable part of the second-shift front desk team.
