Days Inn & Suites Albany

I rarely post reviews, but I wish someone had warned me. Please stay somewhere else. I booked because the reviews seemed decent and they take dogs, but the room was filthy. Dirt covered the floors and baseboards, and there was nowhere to hang clothes or keep them off the floor. Someone else’s hair was on the pillows and in the shower, and mold covered the seam where the shower meets the tub. The shower handle was broken, the water temperature was a guess, and the handle fell off. Neither door latched properly: the bathroom door wouldn’t stay shut, and the main door couldn’t be deadbolted. It was a ground-floor room opening straight outside, and the lock was loose. My husband is a contractor, and luckily we had a drill and screws in the truck. The latch was missing four screws. I can’t see how this qualifies as a hotel. It felt more like a low-end motel by the hour.

The staff that night were genuinely kind and helpful, and the front desk person gave me a partial refund. They tried moving me to another room in the larger part of the hotel, but there were roaches there too, just as in my original room. I won’t be staying again.

The staff made this stay especially comfortable. When I had a broken leg, one of them even carried my luggage to my room, and the front desk team was very helpful. Housekeeping also did a great job keeping the rooms clean. I’ve stayed in plenty of motels, but this one stood out. Highly recommend it! 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

The bathroom floor and shower walls were dirty, and I had to clean the sink and toilet because they had stains and hair on them. I also had to wash out the jacuzzi. If the suite had been clean, I’d have rated it higher.
