Buffalo Lodge Bicycle Resort

The lodge fireplace was a comfortable place to get a few hours of work done, and I could also sit at the bar for craft beers and conversation with locals and other guests. My wife and I had a lovely stay at Buffalo Lodge Bicycle Resort. The room was cozy and nicely decorated, and the staff were friendly and helpful with local hiking tips.

Trying glamping in one of the tents was a great choice. It was spacious, the bed and mattress were comfortable, and so was the couch. The extra blanket and small radiator heater came in handy. I also enjoyed the private garden with its fire pit, the nearby bathrooms, and a dip in the heated pool at night. The lodge and check-in space had a warm feel, and breakfast was filling. There's a good bar with lots of beer and drink options, and live music played every night in the lodge or on the patio. Staff knew the area well and suggested good trails and restaurants. I think the owner is a cyclist, and it was nice seeing a cycling group meet at the hotel before their ride. From check-in through checkout, I couldn't have asked for more. It was a first-rate stay, and I plan to return when I'm back in the area.

We were in town for a wedding and didn't stay at Buffalo Lodge, but we had a wonderful evening in the bar. Mike provided the live music, and Marissa made us feel at home with good conversation and helpful advice about the area. It's rare to find such a great atmosphere while traveling.

We arrived to twinkling lights and the feel of a roadside lodge from 50 years ago. The place has a fun old-school atmosphere, but the room itself was modern and clean, with comfortable beds and simple amenities. Irons are available, though not in every room. Despite a blues festival happening during our stay, it was surprisingly quiet. Friendly, helpful Noel suggested nearby sights and things to do. Breakfast is served in the lounge, warmed by a fire, with coffee and espresso, cocoa, waffles, fruit, yogurt, and more. There's a bar, too. Bikes and helmets are available, and there are several trails nearby, plus a quaint town a couple of miles away with shops, coffee places, and restaurants. That weekend, bands played around the property alongside drinks and food trucks, making it a festive mix of music.
