Crescent Lily Inn B&B

The bottom-floor room was comfortable and really nice, with easy access in and out, free parking, and a safe feeling throughout our two-night visit. My daughter and I stayed there in 2017 while checking out Colorado College. I could’ve sworn I’d reviewed the place already, but I can’t find that review now. The checkout issue was annoying. The website listed noon, but around 11:15 a.m. the owner came into my room without knocking and said she thought I’d already left because checkout time had passed. I was in the bathroom with the door open, though thankfully she still couldn’t see me. It hadn’t passed, and I was driving away by 11:45. The owner should know the checkout time or update the website to say 11:00 a.m.

We stayed in the ground-floor Lily of the Valley room for two nights at the end of a six-day trip. My boyfriend loved hearing about the home’s history, and the room itself was gorgeous, clean, cool, and quiet. Check-in was quick, and it had more features than I’d realized when booking. Breakfast was wonderful, and the staff handled a food allergy perfectly without any hassle. It got a bit chilly at night, but there were extra blankets. I’m also more used to a warm climate. There were lots of nice touches that made it feel homey, and I’d recommend it to anyone looking for a good-value B&B.

We liked the quaint feel of the Inn, without it being the creepy sort of B&B. The hostess was lovely, breakfast was homemade and wonderful, and everything was clean and quiet. It’s within walking distance of restaurants, a great spa, downtown shops, and more. We did hear emergency vehicles at least eight times over our three nights, apparently from a nearby fire or ambulance station. The water temperature was also unpredictable in the shower, changing when we used the toilet or sink or when other guests showered.

The house is impressive, with old woodwork and design alongside modern, comfortable furniture. There are big TVs in every room, fireplaces in a few, large bathrooms, and a fully working kitchen with a huge fridge. The foosball, pool table, putting green, and hot tub all looked nice, though I didn’t get a chance to use them. It’s a beautiful Airbnb in an old mansion downtown, with tons of good food and shops an easy walk away. Finding the parking in back was confusing the first time, but simple after that. I could live here.
