The room wasn’t well equipped, and several things made this a really disappointing stay. There were only five hangers for two people, no coffee in the room, and no washcloths. I ended up taking some from the housekeeping cart the next morning. Nobody from housekeeping checked whether we needed towels during the stay. The only lighted spot by the bathroom sink, where I needed to put on makeup, was the lighted mirror, and it didn’t work. The desk was going to make me switch rooms after I’d unpacked, but an electrician fixed it the next day. The shade stopped about three inches short of closing, so we blocked the bright outside lights with a piece of clothing. At breakfast, there was no unsweetened creamer for the coffee, not even powdered creamer. I don’t want sugar, I want cream, and there was no option. The coffee situation meant I had to drive out to get some. Expedia described an on-site restaurant and free “breakfast,” but I can hardly call what was offered breakfast. I’m almost 70 and have never stayed at a hotel with no unsweetened creamer. The advertising felt false, and after this I won’t book an extended stay again. They also charged $50 as some kind of security deposit, and it still hadn’t been refunded or reversed more than a week after checkout. Please don’t make me contact the credit card company to get the refund.
The room was clean, fresh, comfortable, and very nice. The hotel seemed well maintained, and I had a pleasant stay. Just be aware of what “free breakfast” means here. It’s packaged snacks, bars, and other grab-and-go items, with no hot food or proper breakfast choices that most travelers would expect. I’m attaching photos so people can see what’s offered. If breakfast matters to you, compare other hotels before booking so you aren’t misled.
The only thing I missed was a pool or hot tub. There is a small gym, though, and it does the job for a vacation. Dining choices nearby are limited, but my rental car was close and Walmart and several places to eat were about a 10-15 minute walk, depending on your pace. I walked there without trouble in weather around the low 40s. I stayed the last week of 2025 on a spontaneous solo trip and didn’t know the area. Michelle welcomed me late at night and kindly brought me a coffee maker. The kitchens aren’t equipped unless you ask the front desk for utensils. She even took extra time to chat with me before my flight, and she was warm, kind, and funny. The hotel feels fairly new and modern, with spectacular mountain views. My room was spacious, and the hardwood floor gave it an upscale feel. Staff were friendly throughout, and I felt comfortable. The walls seemed well insulated, which makes sense for a newer hotel. One night my neighbors were loud late, but the front desk handled it immediately and there were no more issues. I’d definitely stay again if I visit Colorado Springs.
The room smelled so bad that I had to go buy deodorizer before I could tolerate being there. The TV guide didn’t match the channels, and the TV was hit or miss until it stopped working altogether. The bed was a cheap metal frame with a mattress on top, more like a wobbly cot. They had a flyer saying dishes could be requested by calling the desk, but for an extended stay, basic kitchen items shouldn’t be a scavenger hunt. I also called the front desk at 1 AM because the people upstairs were stomping around like a marching band. Then checkout brought another problem: they said I’d get an email about my deposit refund after housekeeping finished at 8:30 AM. That time passed, and by after 5 PM I still had nothing. While traveling all day and exhausted, I had to call myself to get an email they should have sent automatically. Completely unacceptable. Even check-in was stressful. I’d booked before coming to Colorado for an important family visit and stayed nearby for that reason. After getting up at 3 AM for my flight, I just wanted things to go smoothly. Instead, they gave me keycards for the wrong room, so I tried to open a stranger’s door with my luggage in tow. The woman inside was understandably upset and thought I was trying to get in. I had to drag everything downstairs again to fix the mistake, and the desk called it a “glitch in the system.” There was also pizza crust on the hallway floor. For a trip that was meant to be special for my family, this place made everything more difficult and stressful than it needed to be. Some consideration or adjustment for all that trouble would have been appropriate.
The grab-and-go breakfast had fresh fruit and convenient things to take along. I usually stay at Marriott properties, but picked this hotel because I could walk to my family, and I was pleasantly surprised. The price was exceptional for the quality and amenities. My room was spotless, and the property looked newly built or recently renovated. It felt modern, clean, and refreshing. At the front desk there’s a full set of kitchen utensils, and guests can borrow extra appliances at no charge, which was very convenient. Nicole and Noah were the only staff names I caught, but everyone was nice. I saw staff quickly sweep up dirt and leaves, and liked that they treated the place as carefully as their own home. It made me happy, like walking into Buc-ee's Big Gas Station. I’d suggest a special air-freshener scent for the hallways and elevator. It was a comfortable, enjoyable stay. I’d absolutely return and recommend this location.
