Hyatt Summerfield Suites, Colorado Springs

Breakfast to go had plenty to choose from: boiled eggs, assorted fruit, juice, milk, pastries, cereal, and breakfast sandwiches. The front desk staff were friendly and kept fresh towels and toiletries available. Our kitchen and living area was spacious and clean, with a pan, a pot, plates, and cups in the cabinets. The pool was clean and roomy, and the laundry room was up to date. The bed was comfortable, though there were cigarette burns in the comforter. It was clean, but a comforter without burns would've been better. Drainage was poor, so showers felt like mini baths, and you couldn't use the toilet while someone showered because it wouldn't flush. We stayed five nights.

The food had a nice variety and was better than cafe food, with options to fit different diets and preferences. Staff kept an eye on it so there was enough, and promptly cleaned up what guests left behind. The lobby, halls, dining area, and even the laundry were consistently clean. I came back from work to a tidy, refreshed room, and the room service felt thoughtful, professional, and skilled. The front desk staff were always respectful and helpful, no matter the time of day or how grumpy the previous guest had been. I especially want to commend the late afternoon and night desk employee who helped with several requests. Hyatt House in Colorado Springs is lucky to have him. I couldn't have asked for more considerate staff or more comfortable lodging.

The breakfast was a real highlight, with more choices than usual and an omelet station. Our room also had a fully equipped kitchen, and the staff were super friendly. We were a couple of weeks too early for the heated pool, which I wish had been open. The location worked well for getting to nearby attractions, and the back of the building has nice views. I’d happily stay again.

Being snowed in for a full day by the blizzard wasn’t ideal, but we stayed warm and could get food and snacks right at the hotel. They put out cookies every day, and coffee and tea are available around the clock. Go early for breakfast, though, since the dining area gets crowded and isn’t large enough for everyone. Our room was very clean, with a comfortable couch and bed, soft towels, and appliances in great shape. I’d been uneasy after reading a few negative reviews among all the good ones, but we were pleasantly surprised and have no complaints. We’d absolutely return.
