We’d stayed here several times over the years while buying and remodeling our home in Colorado Springs, but our latest visit will probably be the last. The rooms are cute, though for two people we only got two towels, one coffee mug, and pillows that badly need replacing. They now charge $20 a day to park in an uncovered, unsecured lot, and extending parking means paying for a whole extra day even if you only need part of one. The service and staff attitude were poor throughout this stay. The vibe was apathetic, with little urgency or care for guests. One evening we went down for drinks and felt like we were intruding on the employees’ hangout time. Breakfast was painfully slow the next morning, and we watched employee drinks get prioritized over paying guests. Twice, people came in for food or coffee, but the barista or server was nowhere around for several minutes to take their order, so they left. It’s disappointing to see this cool hotel going downhill. I hope they do better.

Kimberly was AMAZING, and her recommendations and the service at the bar and front desk made this feel like one of the best places I’ve stayed. It’s a charming, cozy hotel, and I was glad I picked it for a solo stay in a junior queen room with mountain views. I’ve met some really cool people here too. I’d happily recommend the place, and if I come back, I’ll definitely stay again, no question.

The location makes it easy to walk to downtown shops and restaurants, and the beds are very comfortable. Rooms are quiet, though on the small side, probably in keeping with the vibe they’re going for. Amenities are pretty minimal, so I wouldn’t recommend it for professionals. There aren’t full-size ironing boards and irons in the rooms, though irons with mini boards are available. There’s a shared kitchen for guests, but no microwave in the rooms. The parking lot is managed separately from the hotel, so there’s no way to get the fee waived.

The room we ended up in was really distinctive and nice, and the front desk agent was kind when the check-in system sent us to a room that was already occupied. The woman who brought a replacement travel crib was lovely too, and waited nearby in case it still didn’t work. Unfortunately, the crib mattress didn’t fit. We chose this place because the website made a big deal of being family friendly, and the rooms looked unusual for a pretty reasonable price. The rest of the staff came across as rude and dismissive, like they didn’t want to deal with guests. At Houma cafe, the food was okay but felt overpriced for the modern serving setup, the mocktail wasn’t impressive, and the service was honestly terrible.

The fire pit area was a big hit with everyone, especially with the s'mores kits we added for an extra charge. There was enough room for our small band, and the atmosphere, food, and staff all helped make our holiday party last night a wonderful experience. The meat was tender and flavorful, the vegetables were seasoned just right, and the staff made sure we had what we needed. We’ll definitely book our next gathering here. They’re friendly and very accommodating.
