Nevada Flats Hotel

The woman at the front desk was incredibly sweet, and I really liked her. The hotel itself was dirty and smelled awful. My bathroom sink still had tiny hairs in it, the floors clearly hadn’t been swept, and the room reeked of cigarette smoke. It looked much nicer online than it did in person, and there were a lot of homeless people lingering outside. I checked in and left right away because I felt so uncomfortable. They wouldn’t refund me, which was disappointing. I’d give the hotel zero stars.

The downtown COS setting has a strong urban feel, and some departments are lacking. The views and access to some of the best trails in Colorado, maybe even the Southwest, more than make up for it.

The photos made this old motel look much better than it did in person, and the area wasn’t what we expected for the price. We ended up giving up the booking money and going to La Quinta South near the airport instead. That area felt much nicer, and an Uber ride downtown was cheap. There were about five men who appeared homeless smoking in the parking lot, with several other homeless people walking around the nearby street. We didn’t feel safe leaving our truck and trailer there overnight.
