We only wanted somewhere to sleep for the night, but the room was hard to unlock and smelled strongly of urine once we got inside. The mattress had stains under a thin sheet, there were no mattress covers, and the bed had only a blanket with a flat sheet over it. I worried about bedbugs, and the smell was too much. Even our dog seemed anxious and wouldn’t get on the bed or lie on the floor. The neighborhood felt unsafe to us, with a lot of homeless people around. We returned the key at the desk. They said the $150 deposit should be refunded, but not the $93 room charge. I didn’t press much since we’d booked a nonrefundable rate, though I did complain to Choice Privileges. They said only the owner or manager could issue a refund. We left and found another hotel that cost twice as much but was a thousand times better. Paying the nonrefundable rate was our first mistake.

The lobby smelled like urine, the place felt unsafe, and the room was disgusting. The key didn’t work at first, and the employee, who was the manager, said they’d simply forgotten to spray the room down. The beds were a mess and the bathroom was filthy. We didn’t even spend five minutes looking around before deciding nobody could safely stay there. When we asked for a refund, the manager threatened us and told us to leave the property, so we had to call the police. I’d never recommend this place. Save yourself the trouble and stay elsewhere.

I chose this place because it allowed pets, had okay ratings, and was near my event. The Wi-Fi was great, and I used it to book a hotel where I didn’t feel afraid for my life. The property was run down and smelled of smoke, including my room. Outside the room were broken glass, a broken chair, and a plastic cup. As a woman traveling alone, I was put around the corner with no cameras nearby. Inside, the bedding had a clear stain, and I found a screw on the bed that I kept as a trophy. The tub was dirty, there was no soap or shampoo, and the towels looked dirty too. The deadbolt was broken off, and the lock was taped up with shipping tape, presumably around the battery. I wouldn’t call that room a suite, and I wouldn’t book here again. Spend $10 and go somewhere else.

The staff were friendly, but I left after one night of a four-day booking. I was worried about bedbugs and wouldn’t even unpack. I took two videos, and my company told me to get out right away. I’ve traveled all over the world, including throughout India, and have never had a hotel room this disgusting. The area seemed rough too. The grocery store had guards at its entrance, and Chick Filet put the restroom code on receipts because people from the street would try to come in. The owners should lose this Roadway Inn and have it upgraded. I’ve never written a review before, good or bad, but felt I needed to warn other travelers.

I don’t write many reviews these days, but this room was filthy enough that I had to say something. There was men’s beard hair in the shower, dirty, dry washcloths hanging over the shower bar, and the inside of the curtain was disgusting. The room clearly hadn’t been cleaned well. You could see dents in the mattress as soon as you walked in. I wouldn’t recommend it.
