Staybridge Suites Colorado Springs North by IHG

The running trail just behind the hotel and the excellent view from the back were highlights for us. Breakfast was decent, with a good range of choices and a coffee station that did the job. The rooms are roomy and laid out more like apartments, with a large kitchen, full-size fridge, dishwasher, stovetop, and what you need for a longer stay. The pull-out sofa is large too, which gives families extra flexibility. There were a couple of drawbacks. The double-bed suite beds are very small and uncomfortable to share with another person. The fitness room has weights and other equipment, but the treadmill wasn’t working during our stay. Still, Staybridge Suites is a solid, convenient option in Colorado Springs, especially if you’re staying for a while.

I was in town for work, and the internet being down for a whole day was a real problem. I also paid for a one-bedroom king suite but was put in a studio. When I raised the charge with the owner's wife, she was no help and didn’t seem willing to correct it. The room had a shower that wouldn’t drain properly, a broken bathroom fan, and a TV that barely worked. The hallways and other shared areas badly need updating. There was a musty smell, stained carpets, and chairs in the breakfast area that needed a serious cleaning. The breakfast buffet was poor compared with other Staybridge stays I’ve had. It feels like the owners cut costs wherever they can. I typically like IHG because it’s predictable, and Staybridge for the extra space, but this location fell well short. The only thing I’d give four stars for is the location. Incredibly disappointing.

We came here needing some peace and quiet for a staycation, and got exactly that. The family feel was there throughout our four days, and the staff showed real care for our dog. Plenty of places say they’re pet friendly, but this one truly treats pets with affection. Our Westie loved the attention. Jordan, the front desk assistant manager, made us feel welcome right from check-in. Since our previous visit a few months earlier, the property had clearly been extensively renovated. The lobby and hallways sparkled, and our beautifully displayed two-bedroom suite had a breathtaking mountain view. General Manager Scott Duarte is hands-on, from taking out the hotel trash to helping guests with questions and problems. We highly recommend this place for a getaway.

Easy visit with our two dogs, and Colorado Canine Orthapedics referred us, so we got a discount by mentioning the referral. The staff were friendly and helpful, and breakfast and the evening snack setup were good, especially the fruit. Great experience. We’ll return.
