I’d already reviewed this hotel using another email. The cleaning chemicals the maids use made me feel sick, and I don’t believe they used hot water and soap on the floors. Hot water and soap, or bleach, are scientifically shown to kill germs and help prevent infections. The maids are nice, and I understand they have to use the supplies the hotel gives them. Today I called to move a new reservation to another date and said I wanted to clean the room myself with my own supplies. The owner got upset that I’d left a bad review. I explained that her husband had said he would follow up about my cleaning concerns after my last stay, but never contacted me, so I wrote about it. I have the right to leave an objective review based on facts. I’d chosen the hotel today because it has good internet and there aren’t many cheap, quiet options. But after the owner got angry, I canceled. The policy charges for one night. I asked Expedia for a waiver, and the representative said he’d contacted the owner to request one because her response was unprofessional. She was angry about my earlier review, but the hotel is still charging me for a night. That’s fine. Now they’re getting an updated review too, and I wouldn’t be surprised if it costs them future business. I’ll take the $73 hit knowing I left two honest reviews.

Colton Inn felt quiet and convenient, and the room was clean, comfortable, and well looked after. The little touches made it feel like home. Everyone on staff was friendly and welcoming, and they were always willing to do a bit extra to make things right. It was a lovely stay, and I’ll definitely be back. I’d recommend it to anyone looking for a pleasant, comfortable place.

After a six-hour drive, I arrived around 3 a.m., exhausted, and felt I had no choice but to stay in this dirty room. The online photos were nowhere near accurate. The microwave was filthy, the sheets weren’t properly clean, and when I asked to switch rooms, I found the same problems there. There were stains, dust, and dirt all over. The curtains were badly stained, the bathtub hadn’t been cleaned properly, the sheets had marks, and the floors were dirty. The bed was uncomfortable, and I felt itchy and sore all night. I was very uncomfortable and unhappy with this booking. Please take this into account before booking.

This is an older motel, and the shower heads are too low for people who are taller than average.
