It's a typical cheap, run-down roadside motel. There were burns on the sheets, roaches, and smoke and urine smells everywhere; the doors, fridges, and furniture were broken and dirty. People often fought and argued in the middle of the night, dogs and kids ran through the corridors, and loud music came from other rooms. Still, nobody was rude to me, and the woman at the front desk was pleasant to talk with. Be careful coming here, especially if you're a woman on your own. They let you inspect the room before checking in, and you can cancel for free if you don't want it.

We'd booked a non-smoking room while passing through, but when we arrived the manager warned us that although booking.com lists the hotel as smoke free, smoking is allowed in all rooms. She was honest and helpful, and let us cancel without a fee.

A welcoming place with spacious, clean rooms. The staff go above and beyond to make sure guests have a pleasant, safe, and joyful stay.

For the price, it's a solid four stars. The staff are pleasant, rooms pretty clean, Wi-Fi is good but unsecured, and the air circulation is good if you're a smoker. I can't give it five stars because "five-star hotel" means something specific. The rooms seem to have these odd little beds and pillows, but somehow they're surprisingly comfortable.

Everyone who works here is great, and Mrs. C is awesome. The staff always go way out of their way to help me however they can. If you're looking for somewhere in Columbia for an extended stay, I highly recommend Birch Hill suites because the staff are amazing.
