Holiday Inn Express Hotel & Suites Columbus by IHG

Our room 310 was lovely and recently remodeled, with nothing I could find wrong. It had a working mini fridge, microwave, K Cup coffee maker, coffee and a couple of teas, plus Dove shampoo, conditioner, body wash, hand soap, and lotion in pump dispensers. The bed was on the firm side and very clean, with four pillows per queen bed. There was also a side chair and table, a desk with rolling chair, dresser, closet, and room for suitcases. Housekeeping did a wonderful job, and parking was adequate. The staff didn’t greet me once in the five days we were there, coming or going. They could be a little friendlier and more present, though that didn’t keep me from sleeping well. I read bad reviews of this HI Express, but it was the closest place I could find to Round Top for Fall 2025 Antiques week, so I booked it. It’s right off I-10 and easy to find. We arrived around 5 p.m. The front desk staff were friendly enough, if not especially warm. The elevator was a bit dirty and squeaky, which worried me. All in all, it was a great stay, and I’d book again for a Round Top trip to get a quiet night away from the bustle. Thanks, Columbus!

The rooms were good, and it’s a nice hotel in the middle of Texas. There was a time change and no compensation for losing an hour of sleep, which is why I took off a star. Otherwise, thanks for providing a clean, decent place to sleep.

Our tub wasn’t draining right tonight, 1/10/26, but they quickly moved us to another room. The employee even came up with the new key card. This is our second stay, and the excellent service tonight is why I picked this place over somewhere else. I recommend this location 100%.

It’s an older Holiday Inn, but it still has high standards and comfortable beds. Arianna checked us in and was pleasant and professional. She found us a room on the first floor, where we prefer to stay. Five stars to Arianna for all her help.
