Super 8 by Wyndham Columbus Airport

The manager was very nice and helpful, but he was the only good part of this dreary, dumpy motel. On arrival, there was a small sign saying to call if you needed help. I didn’t have my phone with me, so I had to go find someone. The place feels poorly managed, and Wyndham should be ashamed. Zero across the board. It was dirty throughout. The A/C didn’t work, so we slept in a warm room, and people walking the halls were so loud we probably wouldn’t have slept much anyway. The back door wouldn’t lock, which felt like a serious security risk. There was no coffee maker in the room, and the dismal breakfast was stale cereal and white toast, with no decaf. The hair blower in the path was cracked where it was mounted to the wall, and I could clearly see arcs. It looked like an illegal connection, right by the sink without GFC.

The room was okay, and everything else was fine, but the bathroom had a faulty electric socket. It blew the room’s fuse on the morning I was leaving. Room Service, who cleaned the room, were very nice and polite. I was on the 3rd floor in a no smoking room. Breakfast was okay, and for a smaller, cheap hotel, I don’t have much to complain about.

The owner should be ashamed to have employees working in a place this run-down, and they deserve a raise if you’re not going to fix it. The building and grounds are ugly and outdated, with no landscaping. Some rooms have broken glass windows, and the side entrance has no doorknob. The Super 8 sign hasn’t lit up at night in years. Do you ever think that’s why you can’t get customers? There’s no illuminated sign, and the place is always empty. This place is an ugly disgrace.

The towels and clothes were dirty, and so were the sheets, which made it very uncomfortable to sleep. There was hardly ever anyone at the front desk, but staff were quick to hurry you out at checkout. They were passive aggressive and rude, with no sense of urgency. My boyfriend and I wanted to cancel our stay and sat in the lobby to do it. They threatened to call the police. The management and customer service were horrible, and the building made for a horrible stay. This isn’t worth anything over $80 for one night, or really worth staying at all. Zero stars.
