The Capital Suites Hotel

After a long drive, all I wanted was a decent night's sleep, but the room was 93 degrees. Staff said maintenance was working on it, then moved us downstairs to a room that was still 86. They again promised it would be fixed. We went out for the evening and came back to find it was still 86 degrees. At checkout, we learned this wasn't a maintenance problem: they'd disabled the AC and turned up the boilers, and guests were apparently just expected to put up with it. I got only minutes of sleep because of the heat. There was no compensation or consideration. This hotel doesn't care about its guests, and the service was embarrassing.

We weren't told about the renovations before booking, and the cost of the stay made that especially disappointing. After we arrived, loud drilling carried on until 5:15 p.m. The signs said the bistro and bar would be open through Feb 15th, but when we tried to order a drink that night, we were told they were closed for renovations. None of this was appreciated, and we won't return to this location.

I paid for the stay on the 20th and checked out on the 21st, but they charged me another 119 on the 22nd and won't return my deposit. I only slept there and left, and they can't explain why they kept the money or added the charge. At checkout I waited 15 minutes with no front desk agent. A house man told me to leave the key on the desk and validated my parking so I could go. Keep an eye on your bank account if you deal with them.

The shower pressure is wild, like pressure washing concrete, and the blanket is amazing. The rooms are lovely, with lots of space and beautiful views, though they stay chilly. You can't turn off the fan, and even setting the system to 80* didn't warm things up. The location is right in the middle of everything in Columbus and great for a hockey game. GO JACKETS!
