Quality Inn near Northtown Mall & National Sports Center

The bed was softly comfortable and the Wi-Fi worked fine, but I’d spend my money elsewhere. The pool was closed the whole time, and there was no hot tub despite the photos. The vending machine was out of order too, and I have no idea how long any of that had been going on. Breakfast ran out while it was still serving, and the front desk just shrugged and said, “Too bad.” The room curtains were patched together and had holes, the tub was rusty, and there were stains on the room and hallway carpets. Homemade signs were everywhere, written in a crabby, passive-aggressive tone, like “Dont start eating breakfast before it opens at 6:30am!!!”

We left a day early because the cigarette and marijuana smell was unbearable, even in the rooms. The furniture was broken or missing, and the curtains had old-looking stains. The washroom was the only area that seemed remotely clean, which isn’t saying much. We ended up buying our own bedsheets and pillows at Walmart because we couldn’t trust what the hotel provided. We never got a refund for the unused night. I’m still angry about how bad the stay was. Next time I’ll check reviews carefully before letting someone book a hotel for me.

I was told the pool was closed for ten different reasons, and one staff member admitted they just didn’t like opening it. The sign said the county had ordered it shut, but when I called, the county knew nothing about it. There was no date on the sign either. They also show pictures of a hot tub they don’t have. The breakfast was another mess. You’d be lucky to get a piece of bread, and when you asked for food they’d say they were out, including milk. My room was disgusting, with random pieces of furniture that didn’t make sense and weren’t fully assembled. There was no desk or chair. Part of the hotel also seemed to be used as a homeless shelter by the city or someone. I can’t believe this place is allowed to stay open, or that the organization lets it operate this way.

We stayed in MSP from Aug 19-Aug 26, 2025, and I wouldn’t recommend this place. The area felt unsafe and scary to me, with people who seemed to live there long term. The hotel was old, smelly, poorly maintained, and filthy throughout. There were holes in the walls, broken tiles, muddy carpets, security cameras and wires all over, and boxes in the eating area every day. The bathroom had a dirty tub, mold in one corner, and burned out lightbulbs. The air conditioner had only one speed, a headboard broke and dropped on one bed, and there was an old mattress leaning outside against the building. Room service failed to clean after we asked twice, so we had to request towels. There were three of us, but they gave us only two towels each time. The bedspread had cigarette burns. Breakfast was advertised, but each day it was gone or there was very little, and the juice machine was out of order. We got NO COMPENSATION. Please see the attached pictures.
