Comfort Inn & Suites Milford / Cooperstown

The room was clean and comfortable, but its adjoining door made it feel like we were sharing a room with the people next door. They arrived after midnight, and we heard every word, then their TV too. The walls need better soundproofing. We also had children running around upstairs at all hours. Putting families on the first floor would help avoid disturbing other guests. The room assignments felt very poorly planned.

Stains ran all along the carpet from the lobby down the hall to my room. The room was just as dirty: dust covered the windowsill, headboard, and coffee table, like nobody had cleaned in months. When I sat on the couch, a real cloud of dust puffed up from the cushion. This was by far the filthiest hotel I’ve ever stayed in. If you expect even basic housekeeping or care about cleanliness, stay far away. Comfort Inn should be embarrassed to have its name on this property.

We had a comfortable, safe stay at the Comfort Inn and Suites Cooperstown, which is why I gave it five stars. It’s not luxurious or modern, but it’s in good working condition, and our room was clean. The staff were accommodating and very friendly. The rooms still have carpet, in case that matters to you. Breakfast was included and good: scrambled eggs, seasoned breakfast potatoes, and ham or sausage on alternating days. There was also toast and other bread, cereal, yogurt, fruit, oatmeal, plenty of drinks, and make-your-own waffles, which my son loved. The gym had weights and a cycling machine, but the treadmill had been removed, apparently because it was broken. The pool wasn’t open for some reason, either. Since we were there for Cooperstown Dreams Park, the location next door was perfect. If you need the equipment, call ahead to check what’s available. The flashy light on the back of the building was a nuisance for me since I need a completely dark room. I moved the curtains to block it with my hair clips. 👍🏼 I wish summer baseball season didn’t make it so expensive, but that’s Cooperstown season. Thanks again. 😊

Thin walls were the main problem, and at over $200 a night, I wouldn’t recommend this hotel. We heard doors slamming all night, every footstep from above, and hair dryers in other rooms every morning. For what it offers, I’d expect to pay $100 a night. The location isn’t awful, but it’s not close to much. I knew before arriving that the pool would be closed, so that doesn’t factor into my review. Our two-queen suite was fairly large, but the kitchen area had no lighting and there were no plates, bowls, or utensils.
