The Otesaga Resort

The wedding at The Otesaga Resort Hotel was breathtaking, with a beautiful setting and flawless coordination from the ceremony through the reception. I was there for four nights with my best friend and best man, Peter, while attending the wedding of my friends Jack and Caroline. Our spacious suite was a great place to relax after busy days, and we were both impressed by how comfortable it was. The staff were warm and attentive from check-in to dining, making every interaction feel seamless and welcoming. I also made good use of the clean, well-equipped gym. Breakfast was a highlight each morning: a wide choice of fresh items at the bar and made-to-order omelettes, the best I've had at a hotel. It was an unforgettable stay, and I'd gladly return.

I photographed a wedding at The Otesaga Resort Hotel this past fall, and the venue exceeded my expectations. The historic Cooperstown setting and the hotel's unique charm made a perfect backdrop for the couple. The food was amazing, and the staff were excellent and especially kind to me personally. I'd recommend it to anyone who appreciates the history and wants a wonderful wedding experience. I look forward to photographing more weddings here.

The coffee shop in the lobby has great coffee and pastries. I love picking some up, settling beside the fireplace, and relaxing there. It's peaceful, and the hotel makes you feel cared for, like family. Every staff member we encountered was kind, professional, and wonderful. Dawn went above and beyond by personally making sure every detail of the surprise for my husband was in place. Many of the staff have been there over ten years, which says a lot about the place. They treat you with respect and make you feel appreciated. It was worth every cent, and we'll keep coming back.

The breakfast buffet was extremely good, and the staff in the dining room were nice. It was $28, but going à la carte might cost just as much. I also had lunch at the hotel: the fish and fries were good, as was the wait staff, though I wish restaurants wouldn't serve the fish on top of the fries. Keep them separate. Off-season, traffic was light and getting into the Hall of Fame was easy. Overall, I had a good stay and met some friendly staff. This is a very nice, older hotel. I was told it's 116 years old, and it seems well maintained with plenty of staff around. The room wasn't cheap, though I may have got a slightly better rate by talking to the person who handled reservations. It was probably a slower time of year. My room was quite small, which I hadn't expected, but I was alone, so it was fine. It was well stocked, and when I found there was no fridge, the hotel brought one up. The bed and pillows were very comfortable, and I heard no noise at night. I don't know if there were no neighbors or the room was simply that quiet. The heater was an issue. The room was cool when I arrived and took a long time to warm up. I would have liked more heat, but couldn't seem to get it. The bathroom stayed chilly too; its wall heater barely put out any warmth. Wi-Fi worked well, but the TV system was the most confusing I've ever seen, and I gave up and turned it off.
