My seafood bisque was terrible, made with imitation crab legs and tomato soup watered down with milk. The blue corn empanadas were tiny, about the size of a Chinese dumpling, fried hard, and flavorless. The queso alongside them was thick and floury, though it did have pepper chunks and corn kernels. I left half of both dishes. My husband said his chili tasted canned. Go somewhere else for lunch.

The floors are uneven, but the historic Tunnicliff was built over a hundred years ago, so that’s part of the experience. We had a clean room and comfortable bed for our quick overnight. On a crowded 5th of July fireworks night, the front desk staff even stayed up to make sure we had a parking spot after dinner. Stay here to feel part of Cooperstown’s amazing history.

The location is great and the room was clean, but there’s a lot that needs fixing. The bed was awful, the headboard floppy, and the tiny bathroom had a long wait for hot water. The room slants, and the place badly needs updating. Also, stairs everywhere, so it isn’t wheelchair accessible.

It’s a quaint, old place in a perfect spot close to everything. I was there for an off-season weekend. The room was tilted enough that I noticed stepping out of bed, but otherwise I give it a thumbs up. Oddly, they don’t serve breakfast even though it’s a bed and breakfast.

This is an old Cooperstown place with a lot of history, not a luxury hotel. My family has come every year for the weekend after Thanksgiving since the 1980s, and I remember racing matchbox cars with my brother down the slanted floors. The charm, quiet, cleanliness, safety, and amazing service keep us coming back. There’s no elevator, which makes sense for a building from the 1800s. The Pit is amazing, with Baseball’s greatest having dined there and signed the tables, alongside my family. It could use better upkeep and feels dated, but those old-time Cooperstown vibes are a hidden gem if you want history and a comfortable stay. Things have changed since Covid, sadly, including breakfast, which I miss, though they’re trying to keep up with the hotel. I’ve heard complaints about the hotel’s footings being unlocked at night, but it’s a small town and room doors have locks. Parking is better than some people say, with space behind the inn and on the street. Winter is a great time in town, and the day after Thanksgiving has the best Christmas parade.
