Plainview Motel & RV Park

The room itself was clean and comfortable, but the pet policy left us in a frustrating situation. We booked the lower condo because it came up as pet friendly, and the room amenities on the website said nothing about restrictions. When we arrived at 9 p.m., the paperwork had a bright red notice that children and pets weren't allowed in our unit. The website only mentioned no pets for a couple of other rooms, not ours. We had driven four hours and felt misled, and couldn't stay where we expected. If some units don't allow children or pets, that needs to be clear on each listing. We're unlikely to stay again.

The Airbnb listing showed “Moonlight Bay” as available, but it wasn't. Instead, they offered a condo for $100 more than the listed price. When I called Misty to ask about the reservation, she was very rude. If a basic availability question gets that angry a response, I can't imagine how she'd react to other normal guest requests. The reviews suggest I'm not the only one who's had a bad experience with Misty. Maybe management needs to change. Treating customers like a nuisance will keep costing them business. I don't recommend staying here.

It's a little out of the way, but this motel is really cute. The room was nice and the beds were comfortable, and my nephew wanted to stay longer. We arrived late, but the woman checking us in was kind about it; we just needed to call her when we got there. Thanks!

Our kitchenette was clean but basic, and the rooms were clean too. Service was good, the price was fair, and the workers honestly called to tell us we'd left a personal item. There's no ice machine, though the manager or owner said ice is available on request. I also realized they had bagged coffee that didn't need filters, so I've changed my rating from 3 to 4 stars. Since the manager reads these, two small suggestions: pull the stove out and paint the rusty side, and remove the tax in the wall or hang some ocean pictures or collectibles. Bring paper towels, and coffee filters if you'll need them.
