The complimentary coffee and ski storage were big pluses, and the shuttle stops right in front of the hotel, which made getting around very easy. We found the room spacious and clean, and liked the location. The bar was closed, but there are several places to get a drink within a two-minute walk. We usually rent condos on ski trips and enjoyed staying in a hotel this time. In our experience, condos cost a lot more and tend to be dated. We’d definitely come back.

The fitness center is well equipped, and the rooms are decent. This place makes the most sense if you’re here for a day or two and plan to spend most of that time skiing. For a longer stay, the price is hard to justify against other places to stay at Copper. The appeal is the location, not the service or amenities. The bar was never open because of staffing. On checkout day, housekeeping opened our door at 8:30 am without announcing themselves. Another couple had the same thing happen and complained at checkout, but got little response.

The easy mountain access and good gear rentals are the main reasons to stay here. The room prices feel high for what you get, and the experience is below a Holiday Inn, more like two-star quality. You’re paying for the location. Our room wasn’t cleaned even though we asked early one morning. There was just one bar of soap for both the sink and shower, the shower fixtures were loose and difficult to use, and the bed frame furniture had large holes, presumably for lights. The front desk said checkout was 10 AM, though my reservation said 11 AM.

The staff were outstandingly friendly and worked incredibly hard, even though they were understaffed due to COVID. Our maid arranged our daughter’s stuffed animals on the bed, and when our daughter left her smart watch behind, Melanie mailed it back to us. That was so kind. We stayed over New Year’s and had a really nice time. The hotel was brand new, clean, and modern, and much more affordable than a condo while just as convenient for the slopes. There’s a ski rental shop in the lobby with free daily storage and valet service. The huge hot tubs were lovely, parking was good with no fees, and Center Village was an 8-10 minute walk. We’d recommend it, 10/10.
