The unit itself was meh, but what really ruined the stay was the lodging department. I’ve skied at Copper Mountain for 30+ years and love the skiing. We reserved a one bedroom condo configuration through Copper Mountain Resorts, but they accidentally unlocked 245 from inside instead of 241, leaving us with two hotel style bedrooms. After they realized the error, they locked 245, but apparently nobody had a key to open 241. They said we’d have to reach the bedroom through the building hallway, so much for a one bedroom condo. The supervisor was rude and snippy, and either couldn’t authorize a fix or didn’t want to help, even though reopening 245 was a reasonable option since nobody had reserved it that night. No apology, remorse, or compensation.
I wasn’t expecting anything fancy, but the place was third world. There was no internet, and the only way to communicate was to call out, but they never called back. Vacasa as a property management group is a joke. They couldn’t even provide a parking pass, despite the risk of your car being towed from the garage. Stay far, far away from any vacaca-managed property. You’ll end up fighting for a refund with people who don’t seem to care.
The units are okay, but nothing amazing. I won’t rent here again because of Vacasa. From booking until arrival they send five emails a day, all full of blah blah blah, yet none gave clear parking instructions or even the room number. We had to surf the garage door to get in. I can only assume they have some kind of fetish for being screamed at by angry customers.
The sixth-floor elevator was broken for our entire 5-day stay. They wouldn’t move us or offer a discount, and the staff, though decent, didn’t seem to care about the problems. The rooms were small and cramped, the beds awful, and it was crowded and noisy, with no housekeeping or room phone. Parking was okay, and the mountain was close enough. Do yourself a favor and stay elsewhere.
The location is nice, close to the lifts and restaurants, but everything smelled like cigarettes. The rooms were extremely old and worn down, dusty, and smelled bad. There was no staff in the building, and the parking lot was too small for all the guests. They told us the hotel wasn’t responsible for parking, which is ridiculous given the $600/night charge. We also had to leave the lot before 10 am, supposedly a new rule they made up the day we arrived. That defeats the purpose of staying overnight to get early runs and avoid shuttles. Zero service, disappointed.
