Hyatt Regency Coralville Hotel & Conference Center

For my Coralville trip I decided to try a different Hyatt Regency. I’ve stayed at quite a few, and most have needed repairs or been “undergoing renovation.” This one was incredible, better than any Regency I’ve visited by a long way. Thomas or Muhammad seem to be the better communicators.

We usually stay with Marriott brands, but the Hyatt price was very competitive when we visited, and I can’t see why anyone would pick somewhere else in the area. There are quality restaurants, the xtreme events arena, and shopping just a short walk away. The hotel itself impressed us too: comfortable beds, fast elevators, a real Starbucks in the lobby, and a spacious gym with all the equipment you’d need. The big pool and jacuzzi have an adjoining “parents lounge,” where you can watch the kids swim without getting splashed, in a relatively quiet spot. Genius.

We were there for a convention and had a lovely time. I was so wrapped up in the convention that I didn’t see any staff members. The space was very nice, the restrooms were roomy enough for our group, and it was comfortable to mingle during breaks. I’d highly recommend this facility for conferences, conventions, or similar events.

The pool and hot tub were just right, and I found the writers library really comfortable. The pool lounge was a nice extra, too. Everyone working there was lovely. Chris drove my daughter and me to and from the children's hospital in the shuttle, and he was great to talk with. Really nice hotel!
