Pittsburgh Airport Marriott

The evening reception was the weak point. I went once and found pierogies, chili with crackers and cheese, plus chips and salsa, a big jumble of low quality items. Breakfast in the M Club on the 15th floor was standard lounge fare, with eggs, sausage, fruit, bagels and toast, cereal, and oatmeal. The staff were awesome about extending my stay. I kept adding nights and got to stay in the upgraded executive suite they’d given me the first night. I booked a third night and checked in before heading out, but my business nearby ended much earlier than expected, and they canceled it without charging me. The bed was super comfy with feather pillows. The gym was bigger than I expected. There’s a coin operated washer and dryer on the third floor, $1 to wash and $1 to dry. It cleaned my clothes better than most hotel washers, and soap and dryer sheets were free. I had a great stay and would come back.

The room was spacious and clean, and the staff were friendly and helpful. There are lots of food choices within ten minutes, and the hotel is in great shape and conveniently close to the airport. I didn’t get to use the pool, but it looked big and warm. The gym was great, and breakfast was pretty good.

I was there for a catered business mixer and dinner, not an overnight stay. The event rooms were nicely decorated and felt comfortable, and the waitstaff were attentive. There were different food stations; I had prime rib and several seafood options, all great. Dessert was really good too. It seems like a nice venue for a professional gathering or office celebration, with plenty of services to help things go well.

The patio was nicely set up, though it was winter and we couldn’t enjoy it. The lobby could use coffee, since there was hot chocolate during our stay but no coffee. The bathroom showers are a bit dated, and the toilet paper holder needs attention, but everything was clean. The gym was one of the best equipped I’ve seen in a hotel, with machines, free weights, a dual cable machine, and lots of space. Dumbbells only go up to 50 lbs, which is typical for hotel gyms. The lobbies and common areas were stylish and very nice.
