Hilton Garden Inn Corning Downtown

We had lots of room in our suite, with two bathrooms and two big-screen TVs. I had the separate bedroom, and my 19-year-old used the sofa bed. It was quiet even over the weekend, and we slept well. The hotel was clean and nicely equipped, and the staff were friendly. Using the Hilton app made check-in and checkout easy, without stopping at the front desk. The location was especially convenient, just blocks from the Corning Museum of Glass and several good restaurants. The Gaffer District, with its cute shops and more places to eat, was a short walk or drive away. There's also a restaurant in the hotel, though we didn't try it. We'd happily stay here again.

We've loved this hotel for years and stay here two or three times every year when visiting Corning. It's a great hotel in a great location, which made what happened this time especially disappointing. The room we got has large windows with bright lights right outside, illuminating the building from sunset until sunrise. Even with the blackout blinds, it stayed bright inside, and after dark or before sunrise the glare made it impossible to see out. When I asked to move, I was told there wasn't another room in our “tier,” meaning the price point we paid. The hotel was virtually empty that weekend, but they still chose not to move us as a service. As silver members, we found that inflexibility sad and unnecessary, and I felt very hurt by the customer service. There's a response here from Shannon on the hotel staff, but we're still staying here and no one has contacted us.

It's probably the nicest and most central hotel in Corning. We could walk to the Glass museum and Gaffer District, and the rooms were spacious and nice. Parking was easy and free. The lobby is lovely, with complimentary coffee and water. There's a restaurant in the hotel, which can get busy on holidays and weekends when downtown hours are limited.

The room was beautiful and the view stunning, and I'm local to the area. Still, I wouldn't come back. There was a booking mix-up because we checked in late and had paid for the following day, which wasn't a big deal. The front desk woman was somewhat helpful and decent to my companion about it, but absolutely rude to me. That part wasn't a big deal either. After a long day at a funeral, we went to the room, laughed and caught up over a drink. There was no sex or wild behavior. Maybe we were laughing too loudly, I don't know, but then came banging on the door over a noise complaint. I'd rather sleep in my car or a homeless shelter than return. Keep your money, and I'll recommend Red Roof to visitors from now on. This is my first bad review.
