When I checked out, I mentioned the heater again and said the night without heat had made me sick. All they said was they'd look into it. I had spent the night freezing, with body aches and some kind of stomach bug, throwing up all night. There were no clean rooms available until the next day, they told me, so I had to stay in that room. I'd booked a day ahead and checked in at three hoping to get a good room, or at least a smoking room. Instead, they said the only clean room available was a handicap room. The bathroom sink was very loose, there were cockroaches, and the heater didn't work. Workers were hanging around my car and staring at me. When I told the morning checkout guy, he said they were guests too. I complained to corporate, and now the property says I violated a policy but won't say which one. Honestly, I think they gave me a cheap room because I booked online through booking.com and got a deal. If you want a good room and to be treated like a guest, it seems you have to go in person and pay full price.

The bed was comfy, and the bathroom in the disability room was excellent, with great water pressure, an adjustable shower head, and the seat in just the right spot. The decor and cable service could use an update. Still, a good stay. I came from the Long Beach area to get a tattoo!

After a long day, tired and achy, I was dreading the usual check-in process. Martina made it quick and easy, and turned it into a really pleasant experience. The kiosk check-in was streamlined, and she was helpful, easy to communicate with, and excellent at her job. Such a relief.

I had an ADA room, but the shower didn't seem ADA at all. There was no holder for the shower head, and turning on the water sprayed it all over the bathroom. Keeping a dry floor to get in and out would have been impossible if I needed one. Showering was a struggle even for someone who isn't handicapped. There were also black chunks coming off the shower bench. I don't know what they were, maybe mold, but it was gross. Everything else was as expected. The video check-in with Prince went well. The front desk employee seemed angry and wasn't thrilled about much. I hope they fix that shower before someone who needs it has to use it.

For the price, it was affordable and comfortable, and about what I'd expect from a 3.5-star motel. I stayed overnight at a typical no-frills Motel 6. Just the bare essentials, nothing especially memorable.
