Coronado Island prices have gotten ridiculous, so I was happy to find this cute hotel away from the Disneyland-style crowds near the Del. Our room was clean, quiet, and affordable. I’ve stayed in lots of places on Coronado over the last four decades, and this is my new favorite.

We’ve stayed here several times and keep enjoying it. The location worked really well for our family, since we could walk everywhere, and the service was great. We had to leave a message a couple of times, but they always called back quickly. There are two lovely patios for relaxing. The rooms were clean, though a little cramped and dated, and the rest made up for that.

We stumbled on El Rancho Motel by accident and had a blast. It has just 10 rooms and feels like a remodeled hotel from the 1950s. Our room was small but clean. We used the Coronado Farry across the bay to visit the USS Midway museum and the San Diego Zoo, and we were there for Halloween, so we went trick-or-treating. We also learned Coronado Island ranks second among the best places for trick-or-treating!

We had a really nice stay last weekend. The room was clean and pleasant, and they were responsive, flexible, and accommodating. It was noisy near Orange ave, but they moved us a few rooms down.

The property and rooms were very quiet, and check-in and checkout both went smoothly. It’s a nice place to stay in a great spot on Coronado. The only issue was that the A/c sat under the open sink, away from the main bed area, so cooling the room took a bit longer.
