Comfort Inn Corsicana East

I found an adult bed bug on the pillow in room 303. I’d felt like something was biting me, but each time I turned on the light and looked, I couldn’t see anything. After showering and getting ready to leave, I spotted the bug. I took a picture, carried the pillow to the toilet and dropped it in, then left it on the counter and told the front desk on my way out. The room itself wasn’t bad, though the desk chair was very worn. Breakfast didn’t have much: the juice machine’s orange juice was spoiled, there was only plain syrup for waffles, and no peanut butter, which I prefer. The coffee machines this brand has started offering are absolutely disgusting. There wasn’t much else for breakfast, and this location isn’t pet friendly.

The bed was hard and sagged in the middle, the carpet was disgustingly dirty, and the sink and bath were gross. The halls and elevators also needed maintenance. Even the coffee setup next to the toilet was disgusting. We arrived around 5 a.m. after a long flight home from vacation. We couldn’t drive any farther and still had a five-hour trip ahead. As Choice members, we arranged a 1 p.m. late checkout through our rewards level. At 10 a.m., the front desk woke us and said they wouldn’t honor it because it was Friday and the hotel might get busy. The night clerk shouldn’t have agreed, she said. But there were only three cars in the lot when we left, before 11. I showed her the program terms, which list late checkout as a level perk, and explained it had been arranged when we checked in. She said it was by request, not guaranteed, but the terms didn’t say that. The request had been made and accepted either way, and waking us up at 10 was uncalled for. I’ve traveled all over the US with Choice for five years and never had this happen.

The front desk guy really helped us when my wallet was stolen on a trip with my daughter. I had no ID, just a picture of it on my phone, and he quickly told us to come in and said he’d take care of getting us a room. He was so kind and helpful. I’m incredibly grateful; he truly blessed us. I’m not bougie about hotels. I just want a clean room, a comfortable bed, and to feel safe, and this place worked great for me.

A hotel should at least give you a decent night’s sleep, and Comfort Inn failed at that. Our mattress was completely worn out, so restful sleep was impossible.
