Best Western Cottonwood Inn

The breakfast was really good, and Mary was so sweet and accommodating, with a great smile. The front desk staff were friendly and efficient too. My room was clean, the bed was comfortable, and I’d stay again if I’m in the area.

The website says the hotel welcomes pets, and it comes up first when searching for cat friendly hotels, but they would not accept our cat, who is an assistant animal. The clerk said this happens all the time and even suggested a cat hotel. She was very sweet, though clearly frightened of the manager. After meeting the manager, we could see why. The manager claims the attendant helped us find a room, but that didn’t happen. The policy also isn’t clearly explained on the website, so I’ll be calling corporate. We told the manager we’d just driven more than four hours, and she showed no empathy. She seemed to enjoy turning us away. Funny how cat allergies count, but dog allergies apparently don’t.

The rooms connected, which made our stay much easier, and we’ll definitely come back if we’re in Cottonwood. The front desk ladies were so friendly and helpful, and Danielle, who runs breakfast, is top notch and goes above and beyond. She seems to really love her job. The one thing I didn’t like was the laundry setup: just one washer and dryer in a cove outside. We used them the first night, then took the rest to a laundromat down the road, which was very helpful.

Breakfast was a real treat, and the location worked perfectly for us. We had a great stay, with a spacious room, a comfortable bed, plus a microwave, coffee station, and fridge.
