Motel 6 Council Bluffs, IA - Omaha East

Out of the Motel 6 options around Omaha, this one is the nicest I’ve stayed at. The rooms are clean and feel better than most in the chain, with newer floors, tubs, and sinks after a major renovation a couple of years ago. I remember the place closed for a few months for that work. Hallways are average, and the exterior doors are old and need replacing. The key card entrances don’t work, which I actually prefer since you can walk straight in without a card. The lot feels safe, with cameras and police patrols overnight, though it’s a little unkempt and has some big potholes. I’ve never had an issue there. Most of the vending machines barely work or are broken, but the staff are nice and do a good job cleaning the rooms. It’s an affordable choice for a clean, comfortable room. I’d recommend it. For the price, it was a pretty good place. Check-in was easy, and the front desk guy was nice and understanding. Our puppy had an accident in the hallway, and he handled it kindly without charging extra. The room had plenty of space and the beds were clean, though the bathroom was a bit small.

I feel welcome every time I come here, and the prices are great. Harsh at the front desk was especially friendly and matched the online price I’d found so I could get the best rate. The staff and housekeepers are kind too. Thanks so much, I’ll stay here whenever I need a hotel again.

Right as I was paying, a staff member suddenly pulled my credit card out of my hand and examined it without saying why. That felt unprofessional, and I really didn’t appreciate it. If they needed to check the card, they should have explained that first.
