TownePlace Suites by Marriott Pittsburgh Cranberry Township

I expected a regular room but got a small apartment, and the bathroom was so spacious. I loved my stay. I felt bad there wasn’t anywhere to put the trash, so I kept it bagged by the door. I heard a noise the first day and asked about it, then it was gone the next day. Great service.

The rooms were good, though I spotted some mold in the shower. My bigger disappointment was breakfast. I moved over to the Marriott because I’m a member, but honestly Staybridge had a much nicer breakfast and somewhat larger rooms.

The free breakfast was excellent, the beds are super comfortable, and the place was clean with the amenities you need, including silverware and a fridge. There’s lots within walking distance for shopping, and the area felt quiet and safe. The staff were friendly and helpful even when I rolled in exhausted from the road at 11 p.m., just before Christmas.

This was awful service, and I don’t find it reasonable or friendly to people with health needs, older guests, or people with disabilities. It’s not my first stay, and it seems not to matter what you reserve: at check-in they give you whatever room they feel like. I had booked a King suite, but once again they said I couldn’t have it and told me to take a basic double queen instead. I recently had health issues that make a queen bed too small for us. They didn’t care about my circumstances or what the reservation said. They even gave me the keycards for the room I’d originally reserved. We went outside to get our bags, and when we came back, the person who checked us in met us at the door and unprofessionally insisted, “you cannot have that room, you have to take this room give me those cards back now!” They repeated, “you cannot have that room, you cannot have it.” Don’t bother staying here.
