The room was really, really clean, and I don't mind an older, worn hotel if it's clean. The bed wasn't very comfortable, but I knew this was a cheaper place and wasn't expecting five-star accommodations. I booked the Baymont by Wyndham at the last minute while traveling. The next morning, the power went out while I was getting dressed. I had just turned off the shower and was trying to find the window in the pitch black so I could open the curtains for light. When I did, I saw about ten police cars, with officers looking right at me. I know the hotel can't control a power outage, but a small generator for guest safety would've been nice. At checkout, the woman at the desk was busy talking on her cell phone. I could hear her conversation, and it wasn't work related. She asked the person to hold, and I said I was checking out. I tried to sympathize about the outage and mentioned that the woman in the room next to me was being awful to the cleaning lady. The desk clerk snapped, “We don't control the power.” I laughed and said, of course, then tried to keep the conversation polite. She rudely picked up her phone and walked away in the middle of talking to me. The service here was horrible.

I really appreciated how peaceful and quiet it was, and the breakfast was fresh and delicious. Everything felt cared for, from the lobby through the dining area, and the room itself was spotless, spacious, and comfortable. The bed was cozy and I slept well. The staff made the stay, though. Everyone I met was warm, professional, and went out of their way to help, so I felt right at home as soon as I arrived. I'd happily recommend this hotel to friends and family, and I plan to stay every month when I travel from Philadelphia to Creedmoor, North Carolina.

The main reason I left was that the Wi-Fi didn't work. The man at the desk insisted it did, even after I showed him it wasn't working on either of my phones, including after restarting them. I checked out that same day, which I've never done before, and was told I should expect a refund for the second night. Getting a receipt, let alone that refund, has been ridiculous. The same man who checked me in gets close to belligerent on the phone and says only the “manager” can send the receipt and issue the refund. Forget the refund at this point, but are you seriously saying you can't just send me a receipt? Before that, the room already had a strong food smell, and there was a very strong curry and food odor on the second-floor walk to it. Earlier reviews weren't kidding about birds being kept in the hallway. Some housekeeping staff seem to be staying in rooms, perhaps permanently, and I have no idea whether that's legal. That's where the smell seems to come from. The room looked recently renovated, but the work was sloppy. There was dust and debris on the shelves and tabletops, the bedsheets were damp, and the A/C couldn't get the temperature or humidity down to a comfortable level. The bathroom was dirty and had a silverfish in the bathtub. I was already disgusted. Check-in itself wasn't alarming. Still, do yourself a favor and don't stay here. This place is a joke and should be shut down.

We had to ask for extra towels every night since there were only two sets for the three of us. Aside from that, the hotel was super clean and comfortable, and the three people I spoke with were really nice. I liked that it's completely smoke-free and the rooms have no carpet, which is great for allergies. There are several places to eat nearby, including sonic, cookout, and Bojangles, plus a dollar general close by. I'd recommend staying here if you're in town.

For the price, it's hard to beat, and the hotel is far enough from the highway that it stays fairly quiet. It's been remodeled throughout and looks updated, clean, and pretty. I slept great in the comfortable bed. The room also had a fridge, microwave, desk and chair, plus a comfy chair to sit in. The bathroom was adequate, though not the best, and the sink being outside the bath and toilet room was nice. Breakfast was just adequate, but there should be something you'll find to eat. There's a waffle maker, and the coffee was very good. The 3.8 rating seems to come from old reviews, so look at the ones from the past few months.
