Beachside Inn

The front desk staff were friendly, and the rooms were clean and newly remodeled. The price is cheap, but it's on a busy corner, so traffic and other guests made plenty of noise. Streetlights came right through the blinds, making the room feel like daylight when we were trying to sleep. The beds were rock hard, and there was only a sheet, no comforter. Dogs are allowed, but there's nowhere on the property to take them potty.

Eric & Dina, the couple who run the Seaside Motel, were wonderful hosts. After checkout, while I was still in town, they cheerfully kept my motorcycle luggage safe. The handicapped room I stayed in was clean and in good repair, with a mini fridge and small microwave, though the room itself was just okay. Amenities were sparse: a tiny desk, a basic chair, and no luggage rack. Maybe the other rooms are different. The heat/AC controls were oddly placed at ceiling height.

A Thai restaurant is just a three-minute walk away, and the beach is close enough for a nice stroll. The rooms and even the parking lot had bright lighting, which made the place feel safe. It was excellent value, too. I'd recommend taking coffee to B Street Pier early in the morning for the views of Flat Rock, the lighthouse, and the coastline.

The room was perfectly fine, nothing especially memorable, but the location is great and central to the activities around here. Front desk service was really lovely, with friendly and helpful staff.
