Management handled my complaint professionally and refunded my extra night and deposit without trouble, which I appreciated. But I had booked Pacific Inn while passing through Crescent City and didn't feel safe enough to stay the additional night. There was loud yelling and a lot of activity around the property through the evening, and law enforcement came by. Some activity between rooms looked suspicious to me. I was only looking for somewhere to rest, and the atmosphere wasn't what I expected. I wouldn't choose to stay there again.

The room was exceptionally clean and quiet, and the beds were really comfortable. But it was much too cramped for two beds. We'd reserved one queen and got a room with two beds, either full or queen size. With two of us and our two dogs, there was hardly space to walk, and we kept tripping over them.

The location is great and the price is low, but neither makes up for how dirty and unsafe this place felt. There were lots of people using drugs in the parking lot, and we only lasted a couple of hours before leaving after trying to cool off. The room we were moved to was filthy, with mold in the corners and disgusting curtains. Check-in took 20 minutes at the kiosk, then the key didn't work. We lost another 20 minutes going back inside, and the replacement room was awful too. This was one of my worst experiences. I can't recommend it.

The second room was cleaner, and housekeeping later took out the trash and left fresh coffee and towels, but getting that room was a real hassle. We arrived at 4:45 and had to ring for service, which meant talking to a quiet virtual agent while traffic made it hard to hear. After checking in, we spent a few hours at the pier and beach, then came back with Little Caesars pizza from next door. To reach the fridge, we had to move the bed, and found lots of dried food under its edge. I reported it at the Ring doorbell and the agent argued that it must have been us since we'd been checked in three hours. I offered photos and asked for a clean room. At first he only offered housekeeping the next morning, which wasn't what I paid for. After more than ten minutes, he suddenly managed to switch us. It wasn't a pleasant stay, and dealing with the problem was a pain.

For three nights on my first three-day trip to the Redwoods, I just needed a quiet place to sleep and shower. I stayed rested each morning, and my mold allergies didn't bother me. I noticed a tiny musty smell once, aired the room out, and it went away. The room isn't new, and the quarters are tight, but the fridge opened fine without moving the bed. I was glad to have a king bed, as advertised, and the TV worked, though I only switched it on once and muted it. Check-in was through a Ring camera and a live staff member on Zoom in a small room. The staff member wouldn't say my room number aloud, which I appreciated for privacy, and it was printed along with the Wi-Fi password on the receipt. When I had tucked that away, she printed another copy for my guest. They also gave my guest a second key card at no extra charge, which made it easy for us to go our separate ways. The outside doors lock when shut, with two more locks inside. I parked right out front and didn't see anyone concerning. There was an open dumpster behind the building for trash. My dog had a $15 per night fee, and her $100 damage deposit was fully returned. I know other reviews complain about having to move the bed to get to the fridge, but that wasn't my experience. Some people may want a place to hang out or watch TV, but I needed an inn for a quiet night's sleep, and I'd stay again. Dogs are hard to accommodate in this area, so I don't think that alone is a reason to knock a place.
