Sleepy Hollow Cabins and Hotel

I booked at the last minute after our holiday plans changed, and I'm glad we came. I love the cabins and the location. The manager and staff were friendly and helpful, and you can walk to the grocery store, Lake Gregory, and the bowling alley next door. Restaurants are nearby, too. It's only about a 20-minute mountain drive to get here. This is my new vacation spot. 👍🏽

The location is perfect, close to everything, and the staff were great. Check-in and check-out were easy, and parking was convenient. Lake gregory is within walking distance. Those parts of my stay at Sleepy Hollow Cabins and Hotel were fine. What frustrated me was how different the room was from the online pictures. I came from Los Angeles hoping for a relaxing getaway and booked based on photos of a cozy country-style room with a bedroom, kitchen, and living area, for about $160 a night. The room I got looked completely different. The listing also called the kitchen fully equipped, but there was no usable stove or basic cooking tools, and the drawers weren't very clean. The refrigerator worked and the microwave was fine. I love to cook and had planned to, so that was a disappointment. Paper plates and disposable items were available to buy, but that's not what I expected from a place advertised with a complete kitchen. The sofa looked dirty, so I asked for extra sheets to cover it. There was an old smell in the room, the TV didn't work properly, and I could see trash bins outside the window. There was also a fly inside our cabin. The air conditioner was very noisy and smelled of gas. In the bathroom, water pressure was good and the water heater worked, but the toilet was extremely small, and I think most people would find it uncomfortable. I didn't want to spoil the vacation by complaining, and there weren't any other rooms available, so I tried to make the best of it and spent most of my time at Lake Gregory, Lake Arrowhead, and even Big Bear Lake. The staff did their part well, but management should update the photos and descriptions to match the actual rooms and amenities. I booked based on what I saw online and expected the room and kitchen in those pictures for the price, not what I received. That was my only complaint. The staff, check-in, check-out, and parking were okay. I hope the hotel is more truthful in its advertising so future guests aren't misled. Booked: 9-27-29-2025

The staff were helpful and easy to communicate with, and I liked having a choice of hotel rooms or cabins with cute names. It's such a cozy place, with beautiful scenery. I especially love the headless horseman artwork. My partner and I had a great stay. You won't regret staying here.

There was a general lack of care and attention to detail throughout the room. The trash bin outside had been overflowing for a long time, and might have stayed that way if we hadn't asked for it to be cleaned. The room smelled of some strange cleaning chemical after it was mopped, and the odor never went away. The AC and heating unit was full of dust and debris and seemed neglected for years without service. Several things weren't clean: my friend's pillow covers were stained and probably hadn't been washed, the coffee machine drip cup was very dusty, and I had to clean the toilet myself. The refrigerator had so little room that you could barely fit a notebook inside. Our towels weren't refreshed during our 2-3 day stay. The shower setup was also uncomfortable. The showerheads were extremely low, and using the shower required an immense amount of strength to pull the knob outward. It felt like they were taking shortcuts, assuming people would pay anyway. Overall, the customer care and quality just weren't there.
