Courtyard by Marriott St Louis Creve Coeur

The women working at the breakfast bar were the bright spot here. They were absolute saints. I want to like the place since it’s conveniently beside my son’s apartment, but my experience made that difficult. A party in the next room kept me from sleeping until 2:30am, then the same noise woke me at 6:00am. I got only 3.5 hours of quiet. I know the hotel can’t always control other guests, and I was very kind to the front desk, but I asked for a few fixes, including late checkout so I could rest in the room I’d paid for. The desk woman wouldn’t give me a few extra hours unless I paid for half or a full night. Like other reviewers, I had no luck with the manager either.

The staff were all really friendly, and the room was clean. Parking onsite was free, and the TV seemed fairly new. There’s a bistro serving food in the morning, though breakfast itself isn’t complimentary. The sheets and mattress weren’t the most comfortable, which was my one complaint. There’s just one elevator for the entire hotel, tucked at the back of the building. The price was very good, though, and I enjoyed the stay enough to come back.

I’ve stayed here more than once, and it’s a nice place. Getting there is easy, and there are some good restaurants nearby.

I’ve stayed here at least three times a month when I’m in town to see my sister and kids, but last night was different and embarrassing. After the desk manager got rude and argumentative, I asked for a private balcony and that became a problem. Then she made things harder by processing my payment incorrectly, even after I confirmed it with my bank in front of her. I’d driven four hours from Chicago and only wanted to sleep, but they didn’t care. I left and booked a different hotel five minutes up the road. Sad situation. I hope nobody else has to go through this with her.
