Knights Inn Mifflintown

We barely stayed an hour before deciding to leave, and we were very disappointed. We asked for at least part of our money back but were charged almost ninety dollars instead. The room photos online looked old, edited, false, and gloomy. We had booked and paid extra for a one-night room listed as non-smoking, but it smelled smoky and musty. They moved us right away to another room with double beds. That felt like a downgrade to me, though I think it may have been all they had available then.

Booking.com confirmed that I could cancel the reservation for free, but the hotel still charged my card and wouldn't refund me. I tried reaching the hotel several times and called booking.com numerous times. They hung up on me about 95% of the time. I also emailed booking.com every document they requested several times, with no result. Buyer beware.

Some rooms are better than others, and management can be a bit snippy at times, though I wouldn't call them bad. Before leaving, I'd suggest cleaning your room so housekeeping has less to do. I cleaned ours with Lysol Lavender today, except for the floors. I got the counters and bathroom, and did what I could with the spray I had on the glass lampshade above the hallway counter in room 118. It was filthy, as was the AC cover, which I vacuumed with a shop vac and cleaned as best I could.

It was surprisingly quiet, and the curtains made the room so dark we actually overslept. The room was clean and the bed really comfy. We needed a place in Mifflintown because our usual spot wasn't available. It's basic and nothing fancy, but a good price. I'd stay again.
