The hotel itself isn't what I'm reviewing here. We booked airport parking through them, with a shuttle included, and the return trip turned into a mess. Last January, in bitter cold, the shuttle never came. After about an hour outside, we took a cab back. Other customers who'd been waiting were there too, and they'd ended up using Uber. At the front desk, Tatiana told us to email manager Denise Bush with the details and our receipt. I did. A week passed with no reply, so I followed up. Denise said she'd been away and would get back to me. A couple of weeks later, I called again; she said she'd handle it that day and a check should arrive the next week. It never did. In week four, Kayla said she'd pass my message along to Denise, but I still heard nothing. That's very poor customer service. I wouldn't book airport parking through this hotel. They can keep the $25 cab fee at this point; it's the lack of accountability and follow-through that bothers me, not the money. If zero stars were an option, that's what I'd give.
The room felt more like a little studio apartment than a standard hotel room, with what I needed and a comfortable king bed. There was a big TV with Netflix and YouTube, and the place felt pretty luxurious. I also liked having a heated indoor pool open during the colder months, and they offer food and room service. Check-in was quick and easy, and check-out was even quicker with the digital option. Kayla, I think that was her name, was polite and helpful. It stayed fairly quiet all night. I was there before Christmas and had a really nice stay. I'd definitely come back, 10/10.
The room was very clean, organized, and comfortable, and the hotel felt quiet, safe, and well looked after. Everything I needed was easy to get to. It was my first stay at Home2 Suites by Hilton Philadelphia Airport Ridley, and Tanisha at the front desk made a great impression right away. She was warm, welcoming, and genuinely helpful. You can tell cleanliness and service matter here. I'd stay again and recommend it to anyone after a comfortable, stress free stay with good service.
Breakfast was the standout for me, easily the best hotel breakfast I've had. It was fresh, tasty, and laid out well. Rashanda in the kitchen was so friendly and attentive, and you could tell she takes pride in her work. Tanisha made us feel looked after from check-in through check-out, too. She was welcoming and professional, and the shuttle was a big convenience. Our room was clean, the atmosphere was good, and the team was great. I'd absolutely stay again and recommend Home2 Suites.
Truck drivers, getting in is doable if you take your time. It's easier bobtail, but a tractor and trailer can manage it. Turn left at Royal Farms, then right into the back part of the lot behind the building near Cracker Barrel. Depending on how full the hotel is, there's room for a truck and trailer back there. Traffic by Royal Farms can make things trickier. On the way out, watch the light pole on the right turn, then take the last right after the first stop sign. The main reason I gave it three stars was Tanisha at the desk. Check-in was smooth, and she was friendly, efficient, and genuinely welcoming. The rest didn't match what we paid. It was about $184 a night from Friday to Sunday, but the value felt closer to the $100 range. Crumbs were scattered across visibly dirty carpets. I've stayed at Home2 Suites before and expected the same kind of experience, which I didn't get here. We were first put on the third floor, where cigarette smoke came through the bathroom vents. I'm a former smoker and could put up with it, but my girlfriend was coming from Florida and I wanted her to be comfortable. The desk staff moved us to a top floor room. It was a little better, though there was still a faint smoke smell coming through the bathroom ventilation. The shower worked, but the water pressure was only okay and could've been stronger for the rate. We ran out of towels the first night and called the next morning. Several hours later someone called back to say the towels were still being washed and dried. We later asked for sheets and a comforter because housekeeping only services rooms every two days. They brought mismatched full size flat sheets that didn't fit the queen bed, and no fitted sheet. That felt careless. Housekeeping didn't make a great impression either. On Sunday morning my girlfriend said hello to two staff members downstairs and they ignored her. Apart from the front desk, the place had a low morale feel, like people were just going through the motions. Breakfast was another disappointment. It seemed microwaved and not fresh. The sausage patties were still pink, hash browns were soggy, and potato wedges were cold and too hard. There weren't many guests around, so the food should've been better. One useful thing is the 24 hour airport shuttle, which you can arrange by calling the front desk if you want to save on airport transportation. The property feels like it's deteriorating. Tanisha and the other front desk staff did their best, but the room condition, housekeeping, and breakfast don't justify the price. I won't be back, and hope they take this as constructive feedback and use it to improve the stay.
