River Heights Motel

I’d had some uncomfortable stays at national chain motels on this road trip, with cleanliness and safety on my mind, so I turned off the interstate and tried this family-run place in a small town. The family was warm and welcoming, and the property was immaculate. My room was comfortable and clean, and it was quiet. They clearly take care of the premises and their guests with real family pride. I’d recommend staying here if you’re passing through Tennessee and want a pleasant motel stay.

A clean room, a comfortable bed, and a good night’s sleep. The family running River Heights Motel were friendly and accommodating whenever I spoke with them. It suited my needs perfectly, and I’d stay again without hesitation.

I was glad we picked this place after seeing poor reviews elsewhere. The room was quiet, comfortable, and clean, though not spacious. The newer flooring and linens that smelled and felt fresh were nice, and the shower and sink had hot water right away. The sink was missing its stopper, but everything else we tried worked: the AC, door lock, shower, microwave, mini fridge, TV, and internet. The fridge kept drinks cold and frozen items frozen. My wife liked the room too, though she would have liked a coffee maker. I plan to return whenever I get the chance.

The room was very clean and the bed was comfortable, so I didn’t wake up with a sore back. It was just a bit small for my taste, which is why I’d give the room four stars. There’s a fridge and microwave, but no coffee maker. That wasn’t a problem, even on Christmas Day: Savannah is a five-minute drive away, and Dodges was open. Check-in and checkout were quick, and the staff, who I assumed were the owners, were very nice and easy to reach. I’d recommend staying here if you’re in the area.
