Super 8 D'Iberville/Biloxi Area

The owners were so friendly and easy to talk to. We loved our stay at this Super 8, the room was clean and had everything we needed. We'd definitely come back.

We stayed August 29 through September 1, 2025, and had a great time overall. The tub wasn't clean, though, and the hotel could use some updating. Breakfast wasn't appealing, so we went to the Waffle House down the street. They should also provide proper blankets, instead of the thin coverings on the beds.

For $70 a night, I wasn't expecting much, but the room was clean and had a working fridge and microwave. The TV volume couldn't compete with the AC, though, and the toilet seat wouldn't stay up, which is particularly hard to manage on crutches or a knee scooter. There was also a small leak under the sink. I reported it politely, but the manager basically suggested I'd spilled the water, even after I explained I hadn't been in the room all day and work as a hotel maintenance manager. He just said, "it'll be alright," as if that fixed it. I've worked maintenance at hotels from 2-star to 5-star for four years, so I know the job can be challenging. What I expect is basic politeness from the front desk, and that was missing here. I was on crutches, and getting the Wi-Fi password from the woman who checked me in felt like pulling teeth. Earlier, when I asked the man about a ground floor room, he acted like it might not be possible, even though the empty parking lot by 6 PM made it clear this wasn't going to be a busy Sunday night. The clerk, who I suspect was the assistant manager given how small motels are staffed, never thanked me for staying and only spoke to me grudgingly. I usually don't care for small talk, but I was so taken aback by her tone when I scooted back to the lobby to ask for the Wi-Fi password that I forgot to ask where a nearby restaurant was. Now I don't plan to ask her anything for the rest of my stay unless I have to. 😑 Maybe that's the strategy. Would I return? Sure, I'm cheap. I stay in hotels for convenience, not comfort or luxury, and if they keep bugs out, I don't care how nice the room is. But so many other reviews mention bugs at this Super 8, and I hope I don't take any home. So far, so good. My guess is the staff don't read these reviews or care about guest satisfaction. That's what $70 a night gets you these days.

It might have been an okay stay, but the cigarette smoke smell in the room was overpowering and seemed to get worse over time. Then I found two separate small roaches, which really put me off. I wish the experience had been better. The woman at the front desk was great.
